Skin tags are a benign skin condition caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). Skin tags can occur everywhere on the body and it is very important to note that, left untreated, skin tags can spread to other areas of your body and to those individuals which you are in close contact with. Therefore, ideally, all skin tags should be treated at one time to prevent transmission of the virus.

Skin tag removal treatment typically uses lasers to eradicate the lesions by cutting off their blood supply (although other modalities may be used, depending on the location). Over 3-4 days, the skin tags will darken and fall off. Typically, a single session is all that is needed.
