Lunchtime Laser Is More Than Corrective: It Turns Back The Clock

Medical Cosmetics often focuses on the corrective aspects of procedures and products whilst neglecting the cumulative benefits of consistent treatment. With our new Lunchtime Laser program, we hope to encourage our clients to consider the long-term benefits of laser, and not just the immediate WOW factor.

Every laser and light based therapy we use has a specific application:

We can diminish redness in the skin as well as reducing and removing brown spots; leaving clients with a peaches-and-cream complexion that is a sure sign of youthfulness.

We can stimulate collagen production deep into the dermis; plumping skin, reducing fine lines, evening out textural irregularities, and even tightening pores.

We can gently remove a portion of the old epidermis, revealing the fresh youthful skin below.

But beyond treating the “symptoms” of aging, are you aware of the long-term benefits of getting laser and light based therapies?

Science is starting to confirm what we have been observing anecdotally for years now: Laser and Light based therapies may alter gene expression in the skin. What does that mean? It means that getting regular laser and light treatments not only address the signs of aging, but also could be responsible for your skin expressing or “acting” like younger skin. A turning back of the clock, so to speak.

This is something that we have suspected for a while in the industry. People who consistently get laser and light based therapies have amazingly youthful looking skin that goes beyond looking “good for their age”.

Lunchtime Laser treatments -which are an array of quick, comfortable, no-downtime treatments- will not only combat the various signs of aging like: wrinkling, volume loss, textural issu, dull and dry skin, diffused redness, brown/age spots, macro-pores etc. but can also turns back your skin’s clock.

These new studies on gene expression have us excited to launch our new Lunchtime Laser offer that includes new lower pricing on all laser and light treatments. We also have our limited time Laser Credits Program: Spend over

$1000 and receive 10% LASER CREDITS; $2000 and receive 15% LASER CREDITS; $3000 and receive 20% LASER CREDITS; $4000 and receive 25% LASER CREDITS

We look forward to taking this journey back in time with you!

SCULPTRA® Aesthetic– “The UN-Filler”

Never say Never. For those who said they would never receive cosmetic injections, Sculptra may be just for you.

For many people, choosing a medical cosmetic treatment can be daunting. There are seemingly hundreds of treatment options, performed by thousands of machines, in clinics across the world. How are we to know which treatment is the right choice for the outcome we desire? And moreover, even when we have chosen a treatment, there are a hundred companies that manufacture machines that do the same thing. Sadly, with varying degrees of efficacy and safety, of which consumers aren’t always aware. It can be maddening to find the right option armed with nothing but a Google search bar and a girlfriend’s opinion. What might be right for her is not necessarily right for you. Shopping for a cosmetic treatment is not like buying a car. There are myriad factors that are taken into account when designing an optimal treatment plan for any one person. Looking ones best, whether we are talking about diet and exercise, or medical cosmetics, is an ongoing journey and not a one-time event.

For these reasons client education is a top focus in our clinic. Apart from investing in top-tier equipment and products, we want to provide you with ongoing education on your journey to a more radiant appearance. In is important to consult often with our staff and attend events to stay abreast of the fast developing world of medical cosmetics, to make sure you are getting the biggest bang for your buck. New products are released yearly and some really do change the face of cosmetics, not to mention the clients who use them. One such product has recently been released, and it stands out among all the noise and clutter of the industry. It is, simply put: Remarkable.

Sculptra is a long-lasting stimulating injectable treatment that is designed to smooth out and soften lines and wrinkles, restore facial volume, and contour the face in a natural way. It is not dermal filler, and there is absolutely no risk of looking “done” after the treatment. Results appear gradually over months as your body’s own collagen is stimulated. This helps to gradually and subtly reduce lines, wrinkles and folds. By helping to replenish your body’s own facial collagen and restore lost volume, it can give a fuller, more natural look that can last for up to 3-5 years.

Poly-L-lactic acid, the main ingredient of Sculptra has been used successfully in surgical procedures for more than 40 years, among others for bioresorbable sutures, in bone plates and screws, and as a medium for medication.

It can be used for loss of fat and soft tissue in the face, premature ageing of the face, hollow cheeks and temples, nose to mouth folds, deep folds and wrinkles, marionette lines, sagging jowls, wrinkly chest / décolletage, wrinkly hands, deep acne and traumatic scarring.

With its natural, lasting results and excellent safety profile, we believe Sculptra to be the missing link in your pursuit to look your best. In the care of our incredibly talented advanced injector, Michelle Shewchuk, we believe you will become as excited about this new product as we are. Sculptra is not available in many clinics, and we are thrilled to be able to offer it here at Westside Laser & Light.

What is the difference between Botox® and dermal fillers?

Patients frequently ask, Is there is a difference between neuromodulators like BOTOX® or Dysport® and dermal fillers such as Juvederm® and Revanesse®.   The answer is yes.

A neuromodulator such as BOTOX® or Dysport® reduces the activity of the muscles that cause wrinkles such as frown lines, worry lines and crow’s feet. A neuromodulator works by temporarily blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, thereby reducing muscle movement and causing wrinkles to relax and soften. botoxNeuromodulators are also used by experienced injectors to lift areas of the face and extend the life of some dermal filler applications. Neuromodulators are quick-acting, with results typically visible within 3-5 days, and lasting for 3-6 months. BOTOX® or Dysport® can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatments.

Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are a range of products that fill depleted facial features, and in many instances stimulate collagen growth.  We choose to use Revanesse®, Juvederm®, and Restylane® at Westside Laser & Light. Although each dermal filler has unique attributes, in general, most dermal fillers work in two ways. First, most of the fillers plump and lift the skin gently to replace collagen loss caused by the natural aging process. Secondly, most of the fillers also stimulate the body to produce its own natural collagen; some help more than others. Dermal fillers are used in a variety of ways to lift features of the face, correct wrinkles and to restore smoothness and volume to the skin. The effects of most fillers are nearly instantaneous.  Most of the dermal fillers last from several months to a year or two before touch up treatments are necessary to extend results.

Both neuromodulators and advanced dermal fillers are effective treatments, with each having an extensive history of proven results. Both treatments are effective separately, however many physicians choose to use them in conjunction with each other to achieve optimal results.
